How Do We Help

SERVING BOTH PEOPLE & WILDLIFE

Quite simply, for every confirmed charter flight, we contribute premiums towards a 3 year Ranger Protect Policy (Life & Benefits Cover) to the GRAA. Additionally we cover the ranger's annual membership fees to the GRAA for the term of the policy.  We do this at no cost to our clients or passengers. Should our clients or passengers wish to get involved, they can choose to match our contribution on a voluntary basis - every single cent helps and is so greatly appreciated! In this way we are able to boost the number of rangers covered by these policies.

This is a wonderful way of contributing to a balanced conservation initiative which strives to serve both the people and wildlife of Africa, and goes a long way towards ensuring future tourism to our beautiful continent.

We also always offer the GRAA seats on our empty sector flights, where possible, for the benefit of their members.

CURRENT 2019 RANGER PROTECT POLICY COSTS:

ZAR 1,160.00 per Ranger Protect policy and GRAA membership (providing 3 years cover)

* This is equivalent to less than USD $90.00 *

All payments are made directly to the GRAA’s bank account.

Safari & Tourism Insurance Brokers (SATIB) issue the policies for the GRAA.

RANGER BENEFITS

Over 1000 rangers have lost their lives in the line of duty over the past 10 years.

The Ranger Protect Policy helps to ensure the well-being of GRAA Rangers and their families through the provision of adequate insurance cover in the event of injury or death. It goes without saying that these dedicated men and women operate in extreme environments, and continuously face the risks associated with wild animals, sickness, community backlash, and the increasing threat of armed poachers.

Cover is currently available for Rangers in South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Mozambique, Angola, Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda - with plans to introduce to more territories in time.
